Short answers, then a person

Most questions are answered inside the apps, next to the feature. These are the ones people ask before installing, and the way to reach support when something is wrong.

Getting started

  • Uqab: install from the Chrome Web Store, open the dashboard from the toolbar, run a map search. Every listing lands in the local database; exports and backups go to the folder you choose on the Exports page.
  • Uqab Mailer: run the installer (it installs for your Windows user, no administrator needed), add a mailbox with an app password, then point it at your Uqab folder or import a spreadsheet.
  • Both tools open a Help & About page from their menu and show a "?" next to every explained feature, so most answers are one click away inside the app.

Plans, activation and moving computers

  • Continue Free: enter your email, type the 6-digit code you receive, done. The Free plan never expires.
  • A license key activates a paid plan on the computer you enter it on. Every plan, Free included, is active on one computer at a time; to move it, deactivate on the old computer first (Settings > Account & plan), then activate on the new one.
  • When the licensing service cannot be reached, a paid plan keeps working for a grace period and the app says "could not check in"; the Free plan waits for the service because the daily allowance is counted there.
  • A plan never locks your data: reading, editing, exporting, importing and backing up always work. On the Free plan, Uqab stops admitting new businesses at the daily limit and the Mailer stops sending at its daily limit - everything else carries on.

Mailboxes and deliverability

  • The Mailer sends through your own mailbox over SMTP and reads replies over IMAP. Gmail and Google Workspace can instead be connected with Google sign-in in your browser; such a mailbox sends and reads replies through Google's Gmail API with two permissions, send and read, and nothing in it is ever changed or deleted (available once Google has verified the app; until then, or if your Workspace administrator blocks it, use an app password). Microsoft accounts need an app password (two-step verification on); cPanel and other providers use the mailbox password or an app password.
  • Settings > Mail Accounts shows SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your sending domain as Pass, Warning or Could not verify, with what to ask your domain host for. Fix warnings before a campaign; they are the usual reason mail lands in spam.
  • If a mailbox pauses itself, read the reason on the Queue page: authentication failed, the provider refused, or the recent hard-bounce rate was too high. Sending resumes when you resolve it.
  • What happens to a lead after you send: a reply matched in your inbox stops that lead's automatic follow-ups; a hard bounce (the address does not exist) blocks the address and stops sending to it; a soft bounce (a temporary failure such as a full mailbox) is retried later with increasing waits, and after repeated soft bounces the address is blocked too; a policy refusal never blocks the address but can pause the mailbox.

Backups, restore and forgetting a contact

  • Uqab writes JSON backups into your export folder and can restore from one on the Exports page; a restore replaces the data and asks first.
  • The Mailer keeps daily backups beside its database and can copy them to a second folder you choose (a cloud-synced folder works). Restore is staged and applied at the next start, with the current database kept aside.
  • "Forget this contact" removes the person from the Mailer and leaves a marker so later imports do not bring them back.
  • Uninstalling the Mailer never deletes your data unless you choose to remove it and confirm twice.

Updates

  • Uqab: once the Chrome Web Store listing is published, Chrome installs updates the way it does for every extension; your local database stays where it is.
  • Uqab Mailer: once a day it asks whether a newer version exists and shows a notice with what changed. To update, download the newer installer and run it over the installed copy: your data folder, settings and plan are untouched. Nothing is ever installed by itself.
  • The Mailer installer is published on the download page with its SHA-256; the Uqab listing is not yet on the Chrome Web Store, so its update notice is prepared but not live.

Getting help

  • Email contactus@metrixan.com with what you expected and what happened. Replies come from the people who built the tools.
  • For the Mailer, attach a Diagnostic Package (Help > Create Diagnostic Package): one zip with versions, counts, the scheduler's own explanation and the logs - never passwords, your leads, message bodies or your license.
  • For Uqab, the Help & About page has a diagnostic export with the same rule: no leads, no secrets.

Availability

Uqab Mailer 1.3.0 can be downloaded for Windows now. Prices are published on the pricing page.

Uqab Chrome Web Store listing: submitted, awaiting review. Until it is published, install the same build from the download page ("Load unpacked"); the Store copy will carry over your leads and activation.

Plans The Metrixan licensing service is live. Continue Free activates in both tools with a 6-digit email code and never expires: Uqab saves up to 10 new businesses a day, Uqab Mailer sends 3 emails a day from one mailbox. Paid plans activate with a license key once purchasing opens.

Google sign-in Google sign-in for Gmail / Google Workspace is awaiting Google's verification of the app: until then it works only for mailboxes listed as test users in Metrixan's Google project. App Password sign-in works for everyone now.
